1. OPERATION
A) Check up the power supply device first
a) If you buy the machine with power supply device 220V/AC, after the box grounding, you can connect the machine to the power supply directly.
b) If you buy the machine with power supply device 60V/AC, confirm which port you want to join to power supply first, then insert the relative plug (see above diagram: JK1 correspond to RF OUT2, JK2 correspond to RF OUT1).
2. Put through the optical output signal
After putting through power, the 24V power supply green LED and the yellow LED will be on. Ensuring the optical input power below 3 dBm, use the lens paper dipped in absolute alcohol to clean the input connector and the machine optical connector, then join them together. At this time the red LED and the yellow LED will be off. Use multi - meter which one connector join to the earth, the other join to the testing point OPT.LVL to measure the optical power (unit: 5V/mW). Read the meter, divided the voltage figure by 5, you’ll get the optical power figure. If the voltage measured more than 10V, the red LED will be on, at this time the optical input power is more than 2mW (3dB), considering the system working situation, you should reduce the optical power. When the voltage is less than 2V, the yellow LED will be on, the optical input power less than — 4dB, the SNR gets worse, try to increase the optical input power.
3. Duplex return circuit choice
If you use the forward signal only, make the duplex filter sockets output and input to be short circuit (the machine working condition when it leave to factory), if you need delivery return signal as well, you can do the following steps:
a) Put away the short circuit line between the duplex filter DDF sockets, insert our products BPXX duplex filters which characteristics is as following:

a) Change the corresponding attenuators in two return channels to make the return signal level to be 10dBm , you can also put in the return signal to the RF IN connector directly.
b) Install our reverse optics transmitter module which satisfies the technical standards of Laser Link Path transmitter produced by ANTEC Company.
4. Adjust the forward output signal level
When the optical input power is 0 dBm, the specified output level is 103 dBuV, all the output characteristics are measured under this condition. After putting through the optical signal correctly, you can use the instrument to measure the output signal level, change the attenuator to make the output level to be 102 dBuV, if you want to get a pre-equalization, change the equalizer, normally the lowest frequency band is less than 6 dB.
5. CAUTION
A) Invisible laser radiation avoid direct exposure to beam when you install the fiber input connector.
B) The optical adaptor is FC/APC when the machine leaves to the factory. If you have other demands, declare it before you buy it.
C) The optical input power mustn’t be more than 3mW (4.8dB), otherwise the optical receiving module would be damaged.
D) The machine should be in shady and well-ventilated condition.
E) To avoid the machine be struck by lightning and extraordinary high voltage, you should keep the machine grounding all the time.
